No, my actual engine speeds aren’t accurately represented. The question now is - is the signal bad, or the dial bad?

I say ti me for an LSx swap.
I’ve been told that fixes everything.

Don’t these have little step-motors on the back? I just saw a post on one of the forums (mud?) where somebody replaced theirs after it failed, but that one didn’t have the post that stops the needle so may be a different setup. Anyway researching symptoms of failed step motor may help. Also, check grounds maybe?

cheap and if you have some soldering abilities usually not too hard to replace.

and I can finally do my temp gauge mod and replace my burnt out “D” light (plus maybe fix my trip dial) ....after I rip apart my entire dash. boo.
Good to know its not endemic.

Heh, this is your Vortec truck/SUV right? My pickup’s trip meter doesn’t work (my speedo and odo do) and I’ve been mulling whether to leave it be or grab another at the pick n pull . Apparently it’s pretty common since resetting it while in motion will break it (great design GM) so a junkyard replacement may very well be broken the same way.

Oh just watched the video and saw the Toyota logo. I guess it’s not just a GM thing.
